Vladimir Putin

 Vladimir Putin is a Russian politician who served as the President of Russia from 1999 to 2008, and again from 2012 to 2024. He was also the Prime Minister of Russia from 1999 to 2000 and from 2008 to 2012. Putin was born on October 7, 1952, in Leningrad (now St. Petersburg), Russia.


During his time in office, Putin implemented various political and economic reforms in Russia. His presidency was characterized by a centralized form of government and a strong emphasis on state power. He pursued policies that aimed to strengthen Russia's economy, enhance its military capabilities, and restore its influence on the global stage.


Under Putin's leadership, Russia experienced significant economic growth fueled by high oil prices, which helped stabilize the country's finances. However, his tenure also faced criticism for curbing political freedoms, suppressing opposition voices, and cracking down on independent media.


Putin's foreign policy has been marked by a more assertive stance on the world stage. He has sought to reassert Russia's influence in its neighboring countries and has been involved in various geopolitical conflicts, including the annexation of Crimea in 2014 and military intervention in Syria in 2015.


In 2024, Putin's presidential term limit expired, and he stepped down as President. However, he remains a prominent figure in Russian politics, having assumed the position of Chairman of the Security Council of Russia, a position that allows him to exert influence over the country's policies.
