Lionel Messi, often referred to as Leo Messi, is an Argentine professional soccer player. He was born on June 24, 1987, in Rosario, Argentina. Messi is widely regarded as one of the greatest footballers of all time.
During his youth career, Messi played for the Newell's Old Boys in Argentina before joining the FC Barcelona youth academy, La Masia, at the age of 13. He quickly rose through the ranks and made his first-team debut for Barcelona in 2004, at the age of 17. Messi spent the majority of his career at Barcelona, where he achieved incredible success and established himself as the club's all-time leading scorer.
Messi's playing style is characterized by his incredible dribbling skills, close ball control, agility, vision, and goal-scoring ability. He is known for his ability to create opportunities for himself and his teammates, as well as his accurate passing and clinical finishing.
Throughout his career, Messi has won numerous individual awards, including the prestigious FIFA Ballon d'Or (now known as The Best FIFA Men's Player) multiple times. He has also led Barcelona to numerous team trophies, including ten La Liga titles and four UEFA Champions League titles.
In August 2021, Messi left Barcelona due to financial difficulties faced by the club, and he subsequently joined Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), a professional football club based in Paris, France.
